JConcepts 1:10 Pressure Points Rear Buggy Tire
$12.75 (per pair)

Tire choice is key when trying to be a competitive racer. There are so many different tire tread patterns, and so many different compounds to choose from. JConcepts has an extensive list of available tires for 1:10 offroad buggy racing, and one of the newest to the market is the Super Soft Pressure Points.

JConcepts hooked us up with the all-new Pressure Points buggy rear tires, and we were excited to hit the track to try them out! Our testing grounds was an indoor offroad facility with a smooth, tight, and technical racing layout with minimal dust on a wet track surface.

Pros:
  • The small pin design provides good forward traction in and out of the racing line.
  • The tire offered slightly less side bite than a larger tread tire, and was advantageous in rotating the car throughout the tight corners.
  • The specially designed sidewall decreases traction rolls while high-speed cornering.
Cons:
  • The included And-1 inserts felt inconsistent on the track, and were traded out for 3206-3 round medium closed cell inserts.
Conclusion:
We were very happy with the JConcepts Pressure Point buggy tires on our high traction racing surface. As the track began to dry out, we preferred a taller tread tire such as a set of JConcepts Barcodes or Brocodes. While many racers cherish the And-1 foam inserts included, we personally prefer the consistency and overall feel of closed cell inserts instead. Overall, this is an excellent choice of tire in the right conditions. If you are racing on a fast, well maintained, and high traction racing surface, the JC Pressure Points are sure choice.

Traxxas 4mm Aluminum Wheel Nuts
$6.99 (includes 4)

(Available in Blue, Green, Red, and Silver)

Keeping your nuts tight is important, in all aspects of life, but especially R/C racing. There are literally hundreds of different options when choosing wheel nuts on the market today. Majority of the aftermarket companies offering aluminum wheel nuts offer either serrated wheel nuts OR nylon locking wheel nuts. Traxxas, on the other hand, offers wheels nuts that are BOTH serrated AND nylon locking!

We picked up ourselves a set of these Traxxas 4mm nuts to try out. We applied them to both our 4wd short course truck, and modified 2wd buggy to test them out.

Pros:
  • Super blingin' addition for your ride.
  • Serrated back side digs into the wheel, and holds firmly in place.
  • Nylon locking ring virtually eliminates any chance of losing a wheel nut when put in conjunction with the serrated back side.
  • Available in multiple colors.
Cons:
  • Like any anodized part that is under constant abuse, after using a wheel wrench continuously to remove the nuts, the anodizing begins to lose it's color and shine.
Conclusion:
Whether you are a backyard basher or a pro level racer, these wheel nuts ROCK! They are reasonably priced, feature double duty security to keep them tight, available in multiple colors, and fit almost any 4mm axle. There is really nothing to say here but "Thank you Traxxas!"
