Midge Husting, 1928 - 2017

We are saddened to announce the passing of Midge Husting at the age of 88. Midge was the wife of Gene Husting, a founding partner of Team Associated and a big part of our racing family.

It’s often the behinds the scenes work that make a company great and Midge was an integral part of Team Associated as the company grew through the years. In the early days, Midge managed the Accounting department, but could often be found performing any task around the building that needed to get done. Midge worked for Team Associated until retiring in 1997.

At the RC race track, Midge was just as comfortable, and quickly earned the nickname “Killer” due to her rather aggressive driving style. She was a fighter and wanted to win just like the rest of the team and always had a role to play. Whether playing the role of “mom”, or just because she was a great host, she often fed many of the racers at the track. This service became popular enough to warrant a name: “Killer’s Kitchen”. Eventually, there were races held called “Killer’s Klassic” that would provide racers with both good racing and good food in honor of Midge.

We feel privileged to have known Midge and are thankful for the priceless part she played in making both Team Associated and this hobby what it is today.

Midge is survived by her four children Brian, Steve, Curtis and Julie.

Rest in peace Midge.
