It is with heavy hearts and tremendous sorrow, that we at NRHSA, inform you of the unfortunate passing of Kevin Koch, our NRHSA President and owner of Uncle Don's Hobbies in Palm Desert, California.

Kevin was a wonderful human being, with unrelenting energy and a charming sense of fun. To Kevin, everyone in his life was substantial, and he had a special way of showing it and making you feel better. He did everything with such dedication; from running a premier hobby store, a love of fine dining, talking about his underwater diving, and going to concerts, to being the President of NRHSA. He was a ray of light, in a sometimes troubled world.  Kevin was extremely dedicated to helping the hobby industry grow and was very active in many local charities, including the Boy Scouts of America and the YMCA. Kevin once stated to a newspaper reporter during one of his charitable fundraisers, "We are big believers in doing good, to get good."

The excitement and class Kevin put forth in everything he did, will be sorely missed.  It is a true void for both the hobby industry and for all of us, here at NRHSA.   He was a true friend to so many of us.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Finally...at the end of each conversation, Kevin never said "Good-Bye". He always parted from you by saying two simple words, which perfectly sums up Kevin's very essence: "Peace-out".
