On Saturday, the European Federation of Radio Operated Model Automobiles - or EFRA - published the minutes from its Annual General Meeting, during which several rule changes were proposed and passed including:

  • Small changes to clear up technical rules regarding the design of brushless electric motors (pages 3 and 5) and case dimensions for LiPo packs (page 7)
  • Recognizing the Formula One class as a European Cup rather than a complete European Championship due to low entries (page 8)
  • Clarifying touring car wing and body details (pages 15 and 16)
  • Suppliers must ensure all handout tires for touring car European Championship must be from same production run (page 17)
  • European Championship touring car drivers can use one new set of handout tires per each A final (page 17)
  • Formula-class wings will need to meet design specifications (page 17)
  • On-road bodies can be submitted for approval three times per year, to allow for manufacturers to make changes more often (page 18)
  • Final note to suggest that EFRA consider putting together updated rules for the Pro 10 class that is showing life in some EFRA member countries (page 18)

Also of note, on page 11 it appears that Reims EMC in France has been chosen to host the 2019 IFMAR World Championship for Electric Off-Road. An official announcement is expected to be made during the upcoming Worlds in China, which begin this weekend.
