With all the bad news going on, thought I might pass on our good news. Shortly before the virus hit, PDX RC Underground replaced their grey carpet with black carpet. Similar to the grey, Kevin Focht, the owner decided to upgrade the type of carpet. That allowed for a choice of colors. Pink, blue, green and others were available. He decided the best thing would be black!
"The carpet has a heavier loop than the Lowes carpet we were running” Focht said “ It will bring the tire wear down, as well as last longer”
PDX RC Underground is a true community track. Most of the money was from donations, with PDX RC Underground paying a large chunk. “This is a great group of racers here, and they just love the track. T-shirts were given out for donations of $100 or more. “ Focht said “we are all bummed we only got to race on it for a couple races before we had to shut it down for this horrible virus!” Focht continued.
When this is all over, the track will be ready to go with new black carpet!
