NEW SXT Traction Compounds for Offroad Racing

After many years of being at the forefront of onroad carpet racing, SXT is pleased to announce the release of a line of traction compounds designed for the hard packed clay offroad racing market.

First is our SXT Baja Max traction compound. Baja Max is our most aggressive compound released and takes traction to the limit. Baja Max really excels on medium to high bite tracks and really locks in the car giving you added confidence under cornering, especially in 2WD.

The Baja Max compound is a little thicker in viscosity than other compounds you may be used to but we feel this adds to the effectiveness of the sauce.

During testing, of all our various compounds, we found that wiping the tires off 10 minutes before heading to the track provides the best drying time, and gives the tires a chance to tack up.

Second is SXT Baja standard traction compound. Most tracks will develop a groove as the race day or weekend progresses and the level of traction increases causing cars to feel twitchy or even traction roll. SXT Baja standard excels in these conditions when the bite comes up during a race day, or if you already race on a high bite traction surface. It will calm the car down compared to our Baja Max compound and give a less aggressive feel on track.

Finally is SXT Slime tire conditioner. During our testing we found a blend that produced a great feel on tires but required extra time to completely dry. Slime tire conditioner is our thickest blend that you apply to your tires to “marinade” them for extended periods. We have found Slime excels on broken in tires, or tires that have been sitting around and not run in a while and may feel dry. You can “slime” these tires to maintain a fresh feel from week to week at the track. Soak tires for up to 60 minutes the day before racing then simply sauce with your favorite SXT traction compound on race day. We do not recommend saucing the tires and then putting them in bags wet.
