Last weekend, Triple Nickel Raceway in Bartow Florida held the 4th annual Nitro Side Show Shootout. There were 118 entries with 3 rounds of qualifying and a supercross gate start for the mains. The racing was hot and heavy on the technical layout and did not end until 3:00am Saturday night.
In the 40+ Nitro Buggy class, SOAR Racing USA's Gene Hickerson took TQ and received first pick on the starting gate. In the 20 minute A-main, Hickerson got off the gate first and had the lead at the start. But after a few mistakes, NitroPro's Jim Kvidera got by for the lead and went on to take the win, followed by Hickerson, Jeff Keeton, Walter Cruz, and Aaron Sikes.
In Pro Buggy, Mugen's Cole Ogden took TQ and received first gate pick for the A-main. When the dust settled, Ogden took the win followed by JR Mitch, Justin Fales, Kyle Phillipps, and Gene Hickerson.
