Jamaica Rocked by Jamrock 2017
Kingston, Jamaica hosted the seventh running of the Jamrock Nationals, one of Jamrock Radio Control Car Club's most prestigious events. Jamrock Nationals VII (2017) event had an unprecedented staging with the first ever night race of the event. The event was staged over the period January 27 – 29, 2017
Friday night was an electric night featuring three Electric Classes. This was an awesome race night for all including spectators as they were treated to racing entertainment and fun under the beautiful city lights of Kingston. This year's electric class champions are Gary Sailsman – 1/10 Electric FWD Mini, Denise Clarke – Electric Touring (Xray) and Andre Blaine – 1/10 Electric GT (TC6.1).
Sunday was all out business as racers wasted no time showing each other what was about to go down on the track. The event kicked off on-time as planned and ran smoothly throughout the day. There were a few mechanical issues with some cars but consistency was the big winner of the day. The Nitro class champions are Howard Maitland – 1/8 Nitro GT (Serpent) , Franklin Thomas – Nitro Touring (Capricorn) and Raffique Golaub – 1/8 Nitro Open (Serpent 977).
