Round 4 of the Texas Electric Onroad Series was held this past weekend at NControl RC Racing Circuit in Dale, TX. Round 4 proved to be one of the hottest rounds of the series, both in track temperature and racing action. To reach the winner’s circle, drivers had to contend with track temperatures reaching the upper 130s, which took a toll on both the drivers and their tires. The event featured 6 classes including 17.5 TC, 25.5 TC, 12th Scale, USGT, GT8e, and Mod Touring, with USGT and GT8e seeing the largest turnout.

In Mod TC, TQ setter Chris Adams would lead tone to tone ahead of 2nd place finisher Brandon McNally. Johnee Fenimore made a last lap move on Andrew Doherty to claim the final position on the podium.

Mod TC: TQ and 1st Chris Adams, 2nd Brandon McNally, 3rd Johnee Fenimore

In 17.5 Touring, Andrew Doherty was the driver to beat taking both TQ and 1st place on the day. An early mistake by 2nd place qualifier Larry Meyers would open the door for Johnee Fenimore to move up into the second place position followed by Brian Fong in 3rd.

17.5 TC: TQ and 1st Andrew Doherty, 2nd Johnee Fenimore, 3rd Brian Fong

In 25.5 TC, TQ setter Josh Barry would have to work his way back from 4th place after an early mishap. He would eventually regain the top position during the final stretch of the race. Barry was followed by Jacob Aguirre in 2nd, and Jose Isales in 3rd.

25.5 TC: TQ and 1st Josh Barry, 2nd Jacob Aguirre, 3rd Jose Isales

USGT saw some of the closest racing among the top drivers. TQ setter Sean Bloch battled Brian Fong for most of the race running bumper to bumper. Fong eventually found a small opening and took the lead over Bloch. Fong would go on to finish 1st closely followed by Bloch in second. Nick Sibigtroth found some form in the main and finished in 3rd.

USGT: 1st Brian Fong, 2nd and TQ Sean Bloch, 3rd Nick Sibigtroth

In 12th Scale, TQ setter Doug Bryson momentarily lost the lead to 2nd place qualifier Larry Meyers midway through the race. However, this was short lived after a racing incident would send Meyers back to 3rd, which he was never able to make back up. Following Bryson, Jim Harnett would cross the line in 2nd.

12th Scale: TQ and 1st Doug Bryson, 2nd Jim Hartnett

One of the largest classes on the day, GT8e put on a show with 10 cars in the A main. Leading the race from tone to tone was TQ setter Ron Simpson. Crossing the line 3 seconds behind the leader was race director and track owner Paul Gaertner both finishing on a 20 lap pace. Rounding out the podium in 3rd was Aaron Grant.

GT8e: TQ and 1st Ron Simpson, 2nd Paul Gaertner, 3rd Aaron Grant

The final round of the 2018 TEOS will be held at Newman’s Hobby Shop on August 5th in Brenham, TX. More information can be found at texaseos.net
