The first day of qualifying is complete in Homestead for the 2018 IFMAR IC Track Worlds. Three more rounds will take place tomorrow followed by the superpole.

Andy Moore has successfullly become the 2nd person to TQ a round at Homestead for this event. Qualifying from the 2nd fastest heat Moore was able to throw down the fastest lap of the round as well as the fastest top 3 average. Serpent's Dominic Greiner finished 2nd 2 tenths of a second back to improve on his previous 4th and 5th place finishes.. Round 1 and 2 TQ, Dario Balestri would finish 3rd over a second back from the leaders but remains the overnight TQ. Mugen's Robert Pietsch would recover from round 2 pitstop woes to finish 4th in round 3. Finally Infinity's Tadahiko Sahashi would round out the top 5 about 2 seconds back from Moore's TQ time.

Top seed Lamberto Collari would not finish the around only putting in 4 minutes. JJ Wang of the United States would put in a 14th place finish a personal best for him for the day.

Balestri will go into day 2 the overnight TQ. With only 3 points over the 3 rounds he is in very good shape going into Thursday qualifying. Andy Moore and Dominic Greiner also both have 10 points and are 2nd and 3rd overnight. This leaves Tadahiko Sahashi and Tony Gruber 4th and 5th with 22 and 24 points respectfully.
