Bit of controversy here following the super pole regarding the fact that the sun was going down which arguably changes track conditions as well as the ability to see the track. Robert Pietsch, the 5th place finisher after qualifying would do is super pole run first and it would hold up through Dominic Greiner, Andy Moore, and Naoto Matsukura, locking Pietsch directly into the main and sending the rest to the semi-finals.

UPDATE: The protest has been overturned and the super pole that was ran tonight will stand as the official times. Robert Pietsch will start 2nd in the main event on Saturday.
