The recently launched "ONE12 Series", a 5-round Championship held in Italy and dedicated to 12th scale classes such as LMP Open Modified and GT12, saw its debut in the beautiful indoor track of RC Landia in Scandiano. The CRC Black Carpet with which the facility was recently set up, offered the very best conditions for a great race in high and consistent grip.

It was a perfect weekend for Team Schumacher’s Alessio Mota, the reigning Italian GT12 Series Champion, who started his campaign in the ONE12 Series 2019/20 with a double TQ and win.

In GT12, which in Italy is traditionally run on EFRA/BRCA rules, Alessio set the pace in qualifying from the get go sealing the first place on the grid with a 2-second advantage on Guido Carbognani (Team La Gang). A very tight battle for third, saw Alessandro Rampini (Treerremodellismo) prevail on Massimo Imovilli (Team La Gang) for just 2/100 of a second.
During the afternoon’s finals, Alessio checked out early in both A1 and A2 taking hold of the overall win for Round 1 of the Series ahead of Alessandro, who was able to leapfrog Guido in the proceedings.

In LMP Open Modified, it was Alessio again setting the benchmark time already in Q1, which was ultimately worth the TQ of the day ahead of Riccardo Ferretti and Marcello Galli.
In the finals, after a pretty straightforward A1 which saw Alessio taking a tone to tone win ahead of Riccardo Ferretti, in A2 it was Riccardo himself taking control of the proceedings and win ahead of Isacco Fornaciari (Team La Gang) and Giorgio Lockmer. In the deciding A3, Alessio showed great consistency and speed and finally took the overall win to seal a perfect day on the debut of the ONE12 Series.

Coming up next, on November 24th, Round 2 of the ONE12 Series 2019/20 will be held again in RC Landia and will see some special guests attending the race: Team Schumacher’s top-drivers Michal Orlowski, Jorn Neumann, Andy Murray and Nathanael Goodban will perfect their preparation for the IFMAR 12th scale World Championships in Italy. A high-profile race not to be missed.
