Off-road Race Report  by Max Gotzl

The first round of Xray Racing Series Slovakia 2019/20 took a place in the Hudy Arena!

Open practice on Friday for everyone, this time we raced only the 2WD and 4WD classes. Both my cars were working really good already on Friday, but it was not perfect I would say.

I changed some things on the 2WD setup, which really helped a lot and I was able to make the TQ in the round 1 of qualifying, followed by Martin Bayer and Ales Bidovsky. I was also able to make another TQ run in the Q2, again in front of Martin and Ales. The Q3 went to Martin, but as I had faster time in the Q1, I took the overall TQ! Martin lined up 2nd and Ales 3rd.

4WD qualifying started with me taking the TQ in Q1, in front of Martin and Ales. The rest of the qualifying went much worse for me, made mistakes in Q2 and Q3 which didn’t allow me to fight for the overall TQ, as Martin made faster times in Q2 and Q3, he took the overall TQ. I was 2nd and Ales 3rd.

The 4WD finals really didn’t go as planned… I was in the lead in the A1, but as Martin and I fought for the lead, we crashed a few times, which allowed Ales to take the lead and win the A1. In front of Martin 2nd and Matus 3rd. A2 was looking better, Martin was in the lead and I was comfortable in the 2nd, trying to hunt Martin, but unfortunately few mistakes came, which dropped me down. I fought with Ales for the 2nd place, but an unfortunate mistake in the last lap cost me the chance. Ales took 2nd and me 3rd. At this point I had no chance for the first two spots, so I just had to make a good final to stay on the podium. I have no idea why, but after few laps in the A3, when Martin was in the lead and I was comfortable 2nd, but I had to retire. Never mind, at least the points I had from before were enough for the podium, and as Martin won the A3, he also took the overall win!

4WD Buggy Results

We had some good fights in the A1 of 2WD with Martin, but in the end it went really good to my side and I was able to win it, Martin was 2nd and Antonia Kovalzski 3rd. In A2 I and Martin had again good battle for the win, but Martin took it this time a few tenths of a second in front of me, and this time Matus Benetin jumped into the 3rd place. In the A3 I was able to hold on to my TQ spot, and lead the race from start to finish, of course with again a good battle with Martin, to take the overall win! Martin was overall 2nd and Antonia 3rd!

Both my XRAY XB2 and XB4 powered by Hobbywing electronics were on fire! I am so happy for the 2WD win, as I come here for a lot of races, and finally this time I was able to take a win! Big thanks to all my sponsors and parents for the continuous support!

On-road Race Report by Oliver Havranek

The first round of XRS Slovakia 2019/20 in Trencin 

The race started very good for me , after I won the second and third qualy in Stock I secured TQ to the finals. In the finals I was able to win the first two finals and win the overall race in stock category.

Stock Results

3. Lukasz Mach – XRAY T4

In Modi I started from the second place to the finals, after I finished second in all qualifications. In the first qualy I made a mistake and didn´t finished this round. In the second final we were battling with Martin Hudy for whole five minutes but I couldn´t overtake him. In the last final I was able to overtake Martin and win this round. My overall position in Modi was second place.

In Formula, Lukas Hoch took TQ and win ahead of Andrej Vnucko and Michal Wojcik!

In 1/12 classes in E class Branislav Panak took the win and in GT Juraj Sranko stepped on the highest podium spot!
