After the 1st day of qualifying wrapped up, Japanese ace Akio Sobue is really starting to find his groove after 4 rounds sitting 2nd overall. Poised to be a contender here, Sobue is running a special prototype version of his CRC 1/12th scale car that he has had a lot success over the years. With two 2nds and a TQ run, look for Sobue to challenge for the World title later today.

Option parts: The prototype for the 2016 Worlds edition is shorter in wheelbase from the standard car with a new floating servo mount to give the car a better flex characteristic. Also different from the standard production car is that the Worlds prototype has a different battery position that moves the center of gravity more towards the front.
