Pettit to sit out 2016 IFMAR Worlds

Tekno RC's Barry Pettit is one of the fastest nitro off-road racers in the Eastern United States - but he won't be competing at next week's IFMAR Worlds, citing his responsibilities as an engineering student at Clemson University as a priority.

Pettit posted the following message to Facebook around 4:30 PM CT:

"I hate to announce that I will not be attending the 2016 IFMAR Worlds in Las Vegas. My school-work, as always, has priority over my time and unfortunately some assignments and tests became more work than I originally planned, and I felt that if attended the race it would hurt my grades or delay my graduation in May. I feel like this is the right choice as, although my sponsors have very much invested in me (which I am extremely thankful for), my parents and myself have way more invested in my schooling and my future as an engineer.

That said, I wish the absolute best to all of my Teammates and my Friends who will be racing. I promise I will be pulling for you hard from home!

Also, thank you to my sponsors for being so understanding and cooperative with my school work.
