Future Stars of RC is a regular column on LiveRC where aspiring RC journalist Tyler Hooks has a conversation with fellow up-and-coming racers across the country, covering youth-friendly topics such as school subjects, watching TV, throwing huge whips and, of course, girls.

Names: Mason Fuller and Kaden Fuller
Ages: Mason 12 and Kaden 9
Sponsors: TLR, Horizon Hobby, JConcepts, Spektrum, Legit Lidz, and Nitrotane

Tyler Hooks: When did you first begin racing?
Mason Fuller: 2010 when I was 10 racing a SC10.
Kaden Fuller: 2011 when I was 4 racing a RB5.

TH: What is your biggest racing accomplishment?
MF: I finished 2nd in Mod Buggy at the JConcepts Indoor National Series at SmacTrac, and I was on the podium with Ryan Maifield and Alex Kosciuszek.  I also got 2nd at Reedy in the Junior 15 and Under race when I was 10.
KF: I think last weekend when I finished 3rd in E-Buggy at the JConcepts 1/8 Spring Nationals.

TH: What is you worst racing failure?
MF: I did not do well at the first TLR Cup this year.  As an example, in Mod Buggy qualifying for points I had a 20, 20, and 0.  I was very inconsistent that weekend.
KF: I qualified into the C main in 17.5 Buggy at round 1 of the Winter Series where I am usually in the A-Main.

TH: Where do you attend school, and what is your goal for a future occupation?
MF: Urbandale Middle School in Urbandale, IA.  I just finished 6th grade.  I want to do something that makes a lot of money.
KF: Webster Elementary in Urbandale, IA.  I just finished 4th grade.  I want to be a professional basketball player.

TH: What is your favorite class - in school and on the racetrack?
MF: Math in school and 1/8 nitro Buggy in R/C even though I have only raced it one time.
KF: PE in school and I like 17.5 Buggy in R/C

TH: Do you have a girlfriend?
MF: No.
KF: No.

TH: What do you think of the old saying “girls just get in the way of racing?"
MF: I don’t know.
KF: I don’t think they do.

TH: What is you real dream car?
MF: Lamborghini Huracan
KF: Dodge Viper ACR Coupe in lime green

TH: Do you throw huge whips, drive absolutely flat out, or try to be more calculated and smoother on the throttle?
MF: Flat out while still being smooth.
KF: Huge whips. My dad is always telling me not to whip it so much.

TH: Fathers Day is coming up, doing anything fun for Pops Fuller?
MF: We are going to hang out and grill with family.
KF: Yes, but I can’t tell you because it would ruin the surprise.

TH: Action Sports or Conventional, what do you follow in your free time?
MF: I like watching NBA and Supercross.
KF: I like watching NBA and Supercross.

TH: Who did you look up to when you were an even younger racer, or who has been the biggest help to you as a driver?
MF:  I look up to Ryan Maifield.
KF: I look up to Dakotah Phend.

TH: What is the biggest piece of advice you would give to a new up and coming racer?
MF: Turn the throttle down so you don’t overdrive.
KF: Be smooth on the throttle.

Thank you to Mason and Kaden for answering our questions - and for being the epic young dudes they are!
