The thunderstorm that cut seeding practice short on Thursday continued through the night and may not let up until early Friday afternoon - putting the scheduled first two rounds of qualifying in jeopardy. Though the Stateline RC Raceway track crew has the course covered with a large tarp, and did a wonderful job recovering after similar weather at last year's ROAR 1/8-Scale Electric Off-Road Nationals, it still remains to be seen what kind of impact this could have on the rest of the weekend.

ROAR has rules in place for what adjustments would be made to the qualifying points system should the number of qualifying rounds be reduced from the four planned for this event, but that would require the track being usable in the first place - and for that to happen, mother nature would have to comply. Various weather forecast websites show a range of expectations, from the storm being finished or continuing through early afternoon on Friday, which may wash out the first two rounds completely.

Shortly before 9 am, the Stateline RC crew posted to the track's Facebook page that the preliminary estimate for a start time was 2 pm this afternoon, but admitted that light rain may hit again early this afternoon. We'll keep you posted on the progress - and you can watch the track maintenance efforts (when they start, anyway) live on our stream.

In the meantime, here are some photos of what the pit area looks like this morning:
