Over the past few months it has been non-stop traveling, racing, announcing, working, and everything in between – all for R/C cars. This past weekend I finally had a weekend of absolutely nothing to do. It was a dream come true, as I woke up Sunday morning with no plans, no responsibilities for the day, no place to be, no race to attend, and absolutely nothing to do. I had been waiting for this moment to come for well over a month now, and it had finally arrived.
As my wife will tell you, I have the attention span of a 3-year old. While I was so excited for a day of nothing to arrive, once it got here, I quickly began to suffer from severe boredom. I tried playing video games, I tried watching TV, I tried taking a nap, I tried playing fetch with the dogs, and I even tried cleaning the house. None of which satisfied my Sunday afternoon.
For my last attempt at curing my case of boredom, I decided to go clean the garage. I successfully cleaned for 11 minutes before I realized I have a problem. Here I was gifted one day of nothing to do with R/C, and I somehow transitioned from organizing weed killer and lawn tools to charging every LiPo battery I could find and spending the entire afternoon/evening racing down the gravel driveway, splashing through mud puddles, drifting on concrete, and wheeling through the fresh-cut grass with a Traxxas Slash.
Folks, please be warned – R/C cars should be used with caution. Despite what you may think from listening to those who are constantly whining, griping, complaining, and bitching about their day at the R/C track - IF you allow them to be, R/C cars have can create an ear-to-ear smile and fun factor that is more addictive than you will ever know. They are so addictive that after months of waiting for a day away from R/C cars, you'll end up spending that day "away" sitting in the driveway for hours making cheesy videos while you splash and bash until the sun goes down...
I don’t care if you’re 13 or 30...if you have an R/C car and driveway, that’s all you need for a good time. 🤙🏼 — Music: “Days Of Gold” - by @thecadillac3 #rccar #backyard #bash #offroad #truck #fun #driveway #racing #mud #gravel #splash #drift #crash #slash #short #course #summer #sun #hillbilly #country #life #daysofgold
