Dylan Gerard wins at the Monsters of the Midwest Series Rd.3

 

This past weekend was round 3 of the Monsters of the Midwest series held at Asylum Extreme in Louisville, Ky. No rain on the forecast and temperatures in the upper 80's allowed for some great racing. The track was quite small compared to others in the series. Holes formed and jump faces blew out making each lap interesting. After some very close qualifying times it was Mugen driver Ralph Krumme with the TQ in Nitro Buggy, 1/8 Ebuggy, as well as 1/8 Nitro Truggy. TLR driver Dylan Gerard started 2nd right behind him in Nitro Buggy with TLR driver Collin Weatherholt in 3rd. When the tone sounded for the 30min Final of Nitro Buggy, it was Krumme with the lead, Weatherholt 2nd, and Gerard making a bobble that set him back to last. Weatherholt took the lead after Krumme flaming out. With ten minutes left, Gerard finally catches the leader, Weatherholt. The two teammates battled till the very end with only 2 corners to go when Gerard found room to pass Weatherholt for the win. TLR driver Shane Racer finished 3rd. Krumme went on to win 1/8 Ebuggy with Gerard finishing 2nd.
