Oliver Scholz leads a Team Orion sweep at the 2013 German 2wd Buggy Nationals

 

This past weekend, MAC Burgdorf Club hosted the 2013 German 2wd Buggy Nationals on their premier outdoor astro turf track. Team Orion would arrive at this years event with a very strong Team consisting of: 4wd Buggy & 4x4 SC German National Champion Jorn Neumann, defending 2wd Buggy German National Champion Oliver Scholz, and Christopher Krapp!
 
 
Team Orion's Jorn Neumann went onto TQ the first 3 rounds of qualifying in dominate style. Round #4 of qualifying was cancelled due to rain, so each drivers 2 best rounds out of 3 would be used to determine the overall qualifying order.
Team Orion Teammates Oliver Scholz and Christopher Krapp would tie on points for the 2nd position. Oliver would just edge out Christopher for that 2nd spot on the grid. Team Orion Drivers would start 1, 2, & 3!
 
The rain would prove to make for difficult racing conditions going into the Triple A-Mains.

A-Main #1 would start with very wet conditions. TQ Neumann had a rough first Main Event where he finished 9th. 2nd qualifier Scholz would put in a very impressive drive to take the win just ahead of Krapp who finished 2nd.

A-Main #2 would start out with better race conditions. TQ Neumann once again had some issues up front and would have to settle for 4th in this main. Scholz was on a mission and would take the Win in A-Main #2 by 5-seconds over Krapp. This would make Oliver Scholz the 2013 German National Champion for 2wd Buggy 2 years in a row!
 
 
A-Main #3 would have track conditions back to where they were in qualifying. Neumann would take advantage from his TQ position and lay down an awesome run to take the Win! In this Main, Jorn was also the only driverto get by for the 18th lap. Krapp who was a model of consistency all weekend long would finish 2nd in this Main Event.
 

After the results were calculated, it was Team Orion Drivers making a clean sweep of the Podium!
