Racer's Edge FUSION tire glue
www.racers-edge.com
$7.99

Unless your name is Greg Hodapp, tire gluing probably isn't one of your favorite things to do. We recently have tried out the Racer's Edge FUSION Tire Glue. The glue is a very thin glue which allows you to use only a few drops, and let the bead run around the tire for secure hold on the wheel. If tires and wheels are cleaned properly, the Racer's Edge glue does a superb job of holding strong. It takes some getting used to using such a thin glue, but once you get the hang of it, it works great!

Each bottle includes a cap and a "tack" to plug the bottle after each use. We recommend sitting the glue upright in your bag, as due to how thin it is, the tack and cap don't always keep the glue in the bottle.

GMK Supply "Diff Dunker"
$6.95

When it comes to any vehicle that uses gear diffs, one of the most messy jobs is cleaning those diffs. It has always been easy to lose all of the little parts and hard to carefully clean each one, until now. GMK Supply offers a diff cleaning tool called the "Diff Dunker". This simple, yet very useful, little tool allows you to disassemble your differential, put all of the little parts in the mesh clamping basket, and thoroughly clean them all at once without the hassle of losing pieces and scrubbing one by one. This tool is amongst one of our new favorites when it comes to maintenance time.

GMK recommends using naptha to clean the parts, however, we found that a standard degreaser, a light rinse of water, and a thorough drying works well too.

Kal-Gard "Pro-Shine" lexan body polish
$14.95

Nothing looks better than a brand new body. Unfortunately it doesn't take but a few crashes to turn a brand new body into a scratched and scuffed mess. In an effort to "restore" our scratched and dull body we decided to try out the new Kal-Gard Pro-Shine lexan body polish. The body polish is specially formulated for lexan, features a coconut scent, and works quite well. The Pro-Shine did in fact bring a shine back to our body, hiding some of the scratches, however at almost $15 per bottle each spray feels a little like you're shining your old body with dollar bills.

Putnam "BRAND-X" tire traction additive
$12.50

At the last round of the Short Course Showdown Nationwide Tour hosted by R/C Excitement, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, tire sauce was the name of the game. Racers were trying all sorts of different sauces (traction additives) from brand name bottles to homemade mixtures. While browsing the RCE hobby shop we saw a fresh shipment of Putnam "BRAND-X" tire traction additive sitting on the counter, and felt we should try it out. Already running super soft compound tires on the indoor, hard pack, clay surface, the difference was very noticeable. With no other changes made to the truck, the Putnam tire sauce gave the truck a more "planted feel" and kept it from breaking loose so easily.

Tire sauce is not a magical cure to all of your traction problems, however, it is a useful "tuning option" that when you find the right blend, can make a world of difference. We recommend applying in a ventilated area, as with almost all tire additives, "BRAND-X" has a very "unique" odor that lingers in the air and your pit bag after using.
