MHIC is a long-running national on-road indoor carpet racing event held in Lakewood Colorado. The 2023 version of this event will be held on April 14 to 16th. However, the track is always open the week of the event for locals and those that come in early to enjoy some time in beautiful CO, take in sites around Denver or nearby mountains and get in a little track time.

Something unique to our program, which has become a tradition, is holding a club race on Thursday evening before the event starts. It’s a laid-back just-have-fun race where participants are only allowed to run 1 class. This makes the night not run long and makes sure everyone is having fun.

The official program starts on Friday the 14th with controlled practice by like speed classes till around 4 pm. After which, round 1 will be held with a simple twist. Your laps and time will count towards your qualifying runs but only the top 3 consecutive laps will be used to sort for round 2. On Saturday, the final 3 qualifiers will begin. On Sunday the mains will take place with the 2 largest classes running triple mains and the remainder running singles.

Registration opening will be announced in late December. Mark your calendars when it’s posted. MHIC for the past 3 years has sold out within the first 3 to 5 hours.

Here are some notable names that have attended this event over the years: Alex Hagberg, Drew Ellis, Paul Lemieux, Sam Issacs, Max Machler, Kevin Hebert, Eric Anderson (EA), Brian Wynn (Dumper), Scotty Ernst, Mike Hanulec (FJ), Craig Xavier, Scott Jakes, Ralph Burch, Kemp Anderson, and many more. Most of the guys are National or International Champions with a few being World Champions in their respective classes. Others are influential in the US RC market by supporting events and products we all race with each week.
