The 5th and final round of the Portuguese EP TC Championship took place at the Maiorca Track, near Figueira da Foz. Leading the 13.5 Stock championship entering the final round, Jorge Simoes could seal the deal by finishing third or better regardless of how his competition fared. Even though qualifying did not go as planned for Jorge, he drove his TC6 brilliantly to secure the second position on the grid for the A Final.
Not wanting to settle for second, Jorge made a body change during practice before the three-leg A final. The change improved the car’s handling for the track conditions. Instead of playing it safe and settling for second best, Jorge wanted to go all out by putting an exclamation point on the Championship with a win.
The small change certainly paid off as Jorge went on to win all three legs of the final to capture the round and the Portuguese EP TC 13.5 Stock Class Championship.
