The IFMAR worlds are just under two months away, which means teams are traveling to the host circuit from all over the world to make their final preparations for the event. Last weekend, hordes of electric racers from all over converged on Vaasa, Finland to do some racing, and perhaps more importantly- test before the real thing gets underway in July.

Here is the official report from the race organizers:

2WD

Warm up event for the Electric Buggy Worlds 2011 is ongoing in Vaasa, Finland. On Saturday the 2WD race was tight and thrilling and after the qualification the TOP3 was the following: Tebo, Bloomfield and Maifield. Windy weather conditions affected everyone's attempts to make fast lap times, but at least the conditions were the same for everyone. Many top drivers made mistakes so you could find elite stars in the B and C finals as well.

Finals were full of action. Ryan Cavalieri kept it cool in the first A final while Bloomfield was 2nd and young Scandinavian star, David Ronnefalk, made impressive moves by reaching 3rd place. Second final was epic between Bloomfield and Tebo. Bloomfield eventually were the best of them and Ryan C 3rd. Still anything could happen in the last final, nothing was for sure yet. Bloomfield got a runaway from the others because Tebo made a mistake in front of him. Bloomfield took the win, Lee finished second and Tebo third.

Final results were:
1. Darren Bloomfield, UK
2. Ryan Cavalieri, USA
3. Jared Tebo, USA
4. Lee Martin, UK
5. Ryan Maifield, USA
6. David Ronnefalk, SWE
7. Mike Truhe, USA
8. Neil Cragg, UK
9. Jörn Neumann, GER
10. Brent Thielke, USA

The best two drivers came from Great Britain: in addition to Martin, Neil Cragg reached the podium with his 2nd position. Third position went to USA for Ryan Cava-lieri.

– Was great to be at top three again! I wasn’t expecting of this, said Cavalieri after racing.

Drivers thought that there are always there things to be improved – there are left some tricks for the Worlds 2011. The spirit amongst drivers is very good.
