Hot Bodies Race Report:

The final round of the 'Mallet's Winter Series' at NDOR nearly saw it being cancelled with the track having all four seasons in one day. Eventually a few drivers turned around to go home, but we still had 35 drivers left out of 60 that was booked in. So we had got a race on and the day was getting brighter and brighter.

With the weather condition in the morning, the format for us would be 3 rounds of qualifying and C final 17mins, B final 22mins and 30min A final.

The Final round of the Mallet's Winter Series at NDOR Sponsored by RCDisco saw a great showing of the new Xray XB9. 11 buggies showing up, that was a third of the field.

With local man Graham Alsop (Sloppy) showing that he is going to be a force to deal with this year in the nationals, he has been dominating the series and today was no exchange with him taking the TQ and a 2 lap win over John Holmes and 3 laps over Dave Bailey.

1 Graham Alsop 400 [(200:1) 200:1 200:1] 38.43
2 John Holmes 396 [(198:2) 198:2 198:2] 38.76
3 Dave Bailey 394 [197:3 (196:4) 197:3] 40.01
4 Alex Mortimer 392 [196:4 (191:9) 196:4] 40.57
5 Dave Brown 388 [194:6 194:6 (193:7)] 41.42
6 Carl Richards 388 [193:7 195:5 (191:9)] 41.21
7 James Bullivant 387 [195:5 (192:8) 192:8] 41.62
8 Adam Taylor 386 [192:8 (168:32) 194:6] 41.18
9 Jonny Roberts 381 [(188:12) 193:7 188:12] 42.22
10 Scott Francis 381 [191:9 (180:20) 190:10] 43.03

The A final got under way and that saw Sloppy take off and never look back. John had a lonely run in second place just leaving Dave Bailey and Alex Mortimer to swap over positions at the fuel stops. Alex momently held 3rd place for a few laps only to have his buggy act up with I think was an electrical problem.
