M2C Racing is always developing something new and unique! The latest is their line up of flywheels and clutch systems!

M2C OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

M2C RACING is pleased to announce the release of our new quick-change 4-shoe variable weight clutch system. This is one of the most adjustable clutch systems known to the r/c industry!

This design will fit almost all existing 1/8 vehicles using a 34mm flywheel!

Based on a proven design of our 6027 variable weight kit, this new system incorporates a new feature that allows you to preload the flywheel on or off the motor.

The new clutch nut is removed by a standard glow plug wrench leaving the shoes mounted.

This way you can test setups quickly and avoid a lot of down time. When setting up for the various track conditions around the world. The new 34mm flywheel has 24 screw holes allowing you to tune to your exact needs. The flywheel with no weights is one of the lightest on the market at 19 grams with the shoes and clutch nut installed. This is a definite advantage for the weaker bottom end motors as it allows the motor to spool up much quicker. It is also one of the heaviest flywheels on the market with all screws inserted. This allows you to help tame down the super powerful engines like the MODDED WORX B5 AND B6 from our Canadian friends John and Neal from Clockworks Racing Engines.

Tire life is very important to all of us. This design allows you to adjust the spool up of the motor to keep you from spinning the tires. This means faster acceleration and longer tire life. All of the better drivers fight tire wear in long mains of 30 to 60 minutes. Having good rubber in the last 10 minutes is where a lot of races are won.

Fuel mileage is another important factor. If you are not spinning the tires out of every corner you save fuel. And if you can cut out a pit stop in a 20 minute main this will gain 8 to 12 seconds over the rest of the field if they are pitting at 8 minutes. We also run cooler engine temperatures when we are not pulling the throttle wide open all the time. This will allow us to lean out the engine more and that will also give us better fuel mileage and still maintain the correct operating temperature.

The kits will be sold as:

  • Kit no. 6075. This kit will complete with regular (6061) clutch shoes and spring wrench. (We strongly recommend this tool for changing shoes as most of us have stabbed ourselves with a screwdriver when changing shoes on other manufactures’ clutches) Retail price $54.98
  • Kit no. 6076 will complete with no spring wrench since we only need one spring wrench. Retail price $48.98
  • Kit no. 6077 will be the flywheel assembly only, for those who want spare setups. Retail price $29.98

Since a great number of racers already run out variable flywheel systems, we designed the kits to use the same 6000 series clutch shoes and 9000 series springs.

When properly sprung, the shoes and spring usually last 2 to 4 gallons.

Our springs are manufactured in the USA by one of the leading spring companies in the world. They are 9002 ISO CERTIFIED for unparallel quality.

In 5 years we have never had a confirmed report of a broken spring.

Springs 9000 (.9 red) 9001 (.95 Yellow) 9002 (1.0 black) 9003 (1.05 green)
