Young Aussie Kyle McBride signed off in style in Malaysia as he completed a dominant win; topping practice, qualifying, starting on pole and taking the win by two laps over Billy Easton. Whilst McBride's performance will hog the headlines, the mere fact that Billy Easton finished 2nd let alone made the final is quite astonishing, a credit to both man and machine. Having arrived very very late; as in missed qualifying his first lap of the track was in the 256th final, Easton proceeded to happily win all of his finals towards the semi where he cruised through to start and finish 2nd in the final. 2nd placed qualifier Meen Vejrak had a woeful start to the final as he looks to have missed the start and only made it out on track after 15mins of the hour-long main, a shame as he was in with a chance. For the first half of the final Easton was able to keep pace with McBride, albeit losing small margins here and there, however McBride's relentless race pace shone with 25mins to go as Easton's victory bid faded and he settled for 2nd, McBride kept going eventually finishing two laps clear. In 3rd Aussie Matt Griffin who himself managed a small feat; locking down 3rd place for the whole race; letting no one challenge him, leaving Degani & Quagraine to squabble for 4th, JQ had 4th with a lap to go despite having flamed out at 45 mins, JQ had some backmarker issues and finished 6/10ths behind the former World Champ.
