Race Report by OCR Raceway

Phil Ciccone driving a Nova Rossi powered MBX6 takes the outright Nitro-X Masters series lead, and Tony Knauth with an RB, MBX6 combo moves into the lead in the seven round 2011 Homewrap Summer Series. Both series are very close at the top with only 2 points seperating the Top 4 in the Homewrap series, and only 1 point seperating the Top 4 in the Nitro-X Masters.

Round 1 - Pro Buggy - Nathan Tampe - Hyper 9 , takes a 3 second win over Knauth, with Tim Nicol Serpent 0.3 secs back in third, Ciccone fourth, Neil Ingram pushing to finish a strong fifth. Short Course Truck - A nice win from Christianson putting a lap on the field, ahead of Newhouse and Bui, Ussher and Wolfe fourth and fifth.

Round 2 - Pro Buggy - Nicol and Knauth getting away from the pack early to battle it out, Nicol topping the charts just under 3 secs ahead of Knauth, Ciccone, third, Paul Mansell - Durango working very hard for a well deserved fourth ahead of Ingram. Short Course Truck - Newhouse takes what was to be a clean sweep of the remaining races for the night, finishig a lap ahead of Nathan Weiss in second Wolfe up into third ahead of Raafs and Bui.

Round 3 - Pro Buggy - Knauth puts in a blinder after getting caught up in the first corner, to chase down the field and take the lead by midway, Christianson pushing hard to stay in touch, Knauth taking the win 6.30 secs ahead, Nicol third ahead of Tampe and Dylan Thomas. Short Course Truck - Newhouse pushing hard to take the win over Bui, Weiss third, Raafs and Ussher rounding out the Top 5.

Round 4 - Pro Buggy - Nicol and Ciccone battled it out in front, Knauth chasing them down from the middle of the pack, the front pair pushing each all race until the closing stages, the pair clashing under the bridge getting caught letting Knauth through to take the lead, Ciccone getting back into the race to retain second, Tampe coming through for third, Nicol coming off worst of all dropping to fifth behind Christianson. Short Course Truck - Newhouse takes another well deserved win over Paul Mansell, Mansell having led the race up to midway, making a small mistake to let Newhouse through, Christianson making good to take third ahead of Bui and Beau Harris.

Round 5 - Pro Buggy - The final round of the night saw Ciccone get away from the pack early on, Knauth again getting caught had it all to do with Nicol, Tampe and Christianson all on the pace and in form, Knauth coming through to get into second a couple of laps from home, with the laps winding down Ciccone had safe margin over Knauth, only to come to grief under the bridge a mere 20 metres from the finish, gifting the win to Knauth by 2.1 seconds, Ciccone getting right side up to retain second 4 secs ahead of Nicol, Tampe fourth Christianson fifth. Short Course Truck - An awesome battle between Newhouse and Christianson, the pair battling all race to finish in that order 4.5 secs apart at the end, putting a lap on the field with Nathan Weiss third, Bui and Gary Clark topping off the 5.

A very challenging ever changing surface made for some awesome racing, no new records set in Buggy, but the Trucks resetting all the records, some by quite a margin. Christianson taking over a second out of the lap record, he also took more than 3 seconds off the Holeshot and Scott Newhouse taking more than 12 seconds off the FTD, well done!!!!
