MWNS presents the Sonny O Show

 

The Midwest Nitro Winter series went to round 2 and Race World last Sunday and it was an all Sonny O show, with TQ in both classes and almost every lap led in the mains. In buggy it was not without pressure as Derek Weatherholt makes his return to racing piloting a Losi and putting in the quickest laps as always. Despite having to bump from the B-main Derek (quickly) marches on to a solid 2nd place. His cousin Colin Weatherholt continues in his steady and consistent fashion to round out the podium. TLR 8ights take all three spots.

3rd Colin Weatherholt
 
Truggy was Sonny’s to lose but that did not leave us without a race as the battle was heavy for the remaining podium spots. As the dueling pit mates of Greg Wilks and Leslie chow continue to hammer at each other allowing Grant Runkel and the young Tyler Jones to taste podium for awhile. But in the end Wilks and Chow regained the order they qualified in.
Another TLR sweep of the podium as well.

The Series returns January 15 to Leisure hours, in Joliet IL for round 3 and if no one puts a stop to it, the championship just may be only Sonny's to lose as well. See you there!!
