Press Release From Avid RC:
www.avidrc.com
The Sweeper rear tire is built for racers who demand rear grip they can trust. Designed around an aggressive arched chevron pin layout, it delivers strong forward drive and exceptional side bite without feeling edgy or unpredictable. Whether you’re carrying speed through long sweepers or getting on power out of the corner, the Avid Sweeper keeps the rear planted so you can push with confidence lap after lap.
Compounds
We offer two compounds optimized for artificial surfaces:
- A3 Medium Green
Best suited for high-bite surfaces such as office carpet, tracks that allow traction compound, or extended practice sessions where longevity is important. - A4 Soft Red
Designed for lower-bite surfaces (CRC, Beach, and EOS) style carpets and where traction compound is not allowed. It delivers maximum forward and steering grip when you are willing to trade a bit of wear for performance.
Design Details That Make the Difference
- Arched Chevron Pin Layout
The rear tire features an arched chevron pattern engineered for exceptional side bite. The layout keeps the rear of the car stable and predictable through long sweepers and high-load transitions. When you lean on it, it stays planted. - Directional Design with Clear Mounting Indicators
These tires are directional, with the center tip of the arched chevron pointing toward the car. Because the pin clustering is tight and performance-driven, the pattern can be subtle at a glance. To eliminate guesswork, we’ve integrated directional arrows into the debossed Avid sidewall logo so you can confidently mount them correctly every time. - Debossed Sidewall Logos
All branding is debossed into the tire to prevent raised lettering from interfering with the racing surface. No random fiber grabbing. No glue cracking around raised letters. Just a clean, consistent sidewall. - Wide-Base Pin Structure
Each pin is built on a larger base to improve side bite predictability and support under load. The result is rear grip you can trust, especially when corner speed and throttle control matter most. - Soft Grey Foams
Includes our soft grey foams, which we recommend trimming to 35mm width. This improves stability on sideways landings and makes the tire more forgiving through corners, resulting in increased side bite and a more confident feel.
The Guardian front tire was designed with one goal in mind: predictable steering that stays consistent. After a single break-in run, the tire settles into its true performance window and holds it. Instead of chasing balance from run to run, you get a front end that stays planted, confident, and repeatable.
Break-In That Works in Your Favor
Every tire needs a break-in. Most racers run their fronts for a few minutes just to knock the initial edge off so the car settles down.
Our tire takes a different approach.
The first run is not about removing edge. It is about activating it.
On the very first run, the tire feels smooth and easy to drive. Some drivers may even feel a slight push. But after that initial run, the steering comes alive and stays there and the feel remains remarkably consistent.
With many front tires, you feel the edge fade after 2-3 runs, and by run 4-5 the balance starts shifting and lap times begin to drift. Our front tire avoids that rollercoaster. Once it comes in, it stays in. You don't have to develop your setup to favor one or the other. Pros develop their setups around the first few edgy runs and then give their tires away. With our Guardian front tires, you get to enjoy a consistent traction level for the life of the tire so you can focus on your driving and not how your setup reacts to it.
For racers who value predictability and confidence, that consistency matters.

Design Details That Make the Difference
- Increased Sidewall on One Side
One sidewall is enlarged to calm the initial edge and improve mid-corner stability. By placing the increased sidewall towards the outside the result is a front tire that turns in without feeling nervous. - Debossed Logos
All sidewall branding is debossed instead of raised. This prevents glue cracking around lettering, eliminates the chance of raised logos randomly catching carpet fibers, and it makes gluing the sidewalls a breeze. - Larger, Tighter Pin Layout
The pins are larger and more tightly packed to maintain traction while increasing wear life. You get consistent grip without sacrificing durability.
