New JConcepts FYR Crawler Tire Options

The task was simple, creating one of the most detailed crawling tires of all-time without any deep pocketing while applying it to a new competition width. The result, the FYR “Fire” tire has all the latest elements and includes some industry first development such as the 1.5” width carcass. The new tire starts with a traditional 1.9 bead mounting diameter to satisfy the industry standard and the demands of the most popular wheel size in the crawler segment. The carcass has a continuous flow of wall thickness and pillow-top feel against the insert.

The tread itself is where magic happens on this 4.25 OD tire. The individual arrangements of tread plots rise in a series of directional value providing climbing support from a host of different angles. Surface recess areas are very shallow but give just enough flexibility to the top to conform to terrain. Very faint radial ribs are in 3 key areas across the carcass in very important traction zones. The pie shaped recessed spaces on the tread are loaded with detail even extending to the sidewall lugging.

Turning attention to the sidewall, it’s glorious. Tread plots which resemble knives, boots, and other subliminal items on the sidewall reign supreme. A new level of detail resides in the sidewall lugging where all the surfaces have small cavities in a host of different patterns and arrangements. Very light background texture rests behind the sidewall in a hidden tattoo like fashion. JConcepts lettering is embossed showing brand authority on the sidewall along with the part number, dimensions, and tire naming.
