The late 1990’s and early 2000’s was a huge time for monster truck racing teams and pushing the limits of performance. The major players in the business always experimented with tires and with direct connection to make real world tire adjustments, tread patterns took on new and amazing designs. These tires are versions of themselves, cut, sliced, and altering parting lines to create new and reformed combinations. In the case of the Outlaw, the directional nature places the back-cut lugs in a serious advantageous position to give forward bite. The center zone is horizonal right where you want the greatest grip off the line, and the outer portion of the tire angles back dramatically to provide angular support during turning and power through sweeping corners. The inside of the tread angles off into the sidewall where it falls off narrowing the look and reducing some overall weight.

The carcass has details which competitors have come to expect from JConcepts tires. The carcass has built in hand-carving details over the entire carcass filling in between tread with weight loss and scale appeal. A new high-performance tire from JConcepts hit the market with the release of the Cheese Racer for monster trucks. Named after Tom Hitchcock, a well-known track owner in central Florida, the Cheese Racer has almost too many styling, interesting concepts, and details to list. Simply put, the new tire has just about every feature used on all existing tires rolled into one. The difficult task was first envisioned during concept drawings and when computer aided models were merged over the top of each other and mirrored.

After countless hours of detailing out the new design, the tire appeared in a waffle like picture but positioned for all-terrain grip. The tire is built on similar carcasses to popular tires like the Renegades, Racer, Runner, JCT, and Outlaw. JConcepts design team took the carcass and added the hand cutting details as used in the racing generation of monster trucks and applied that to the low-profile race carcass giving the tire a very pliable feel to the user.

After adding the waffling tread pattern, the mirrored and overlapped chevron tread is back cut for reduced weight and provide a cutting edge in the performance direction. Everything aligns in the center and a recess built into the center geometry forms the home base to the items. The sidewalls are highly detailed with embossed logos making it great for shelf vehicles or show-and-shine competitors. Finely detailed inner hatching exists inside the lettering providing even more detail all the way up to the diamond shaped icons near the top of the sidewall.

The inner carcass is completely smooth with continuous profile to allow the cushion of the soft blue and medium gold compound rubber to grip to a vast array of surfaces. The Cheese Racer includes large and supportive React foam inserts to hold up the rigors of monster truck demands. For mounting purposes, an arrow <- is included on the sidewall indicating the intended running direction of the tires. The new tire is intended for Pro Mod racing, outlaw competition, or performance-oriented bashing.
