New JConcepts P2 Traxxas Rustler Clipless Body

JConcepts rolls out with the first of what will be many new body shells designed to fit factory clipless system vehicles. Utilizing a proven P2 style body concept, the team from Groveland, Florida has built the ultimate performance and utility body that fits the famous Traxxas Rustler.  It was time for an overhaul on the JConcepts basher shell line-up and the design group started from scratch pinpointing all the mounting positions used on the popular vehicle.

With the success of the P2 body in the buggy class, it was just a matter of time before it was incorporated into a stadium truck body. A lot of considerations needed to be made to accommodate the systems in place to mount the body. First, the mounting features of the vehicle were placed and the design of the P2 started to take shape. The recessed but broad headlight is unapologetic and the grille pokes through the front-end placing it just behind the front bumper.

Over the hood, there are shock clearance items, air deflection shield with heavy pocketing. The narrow and Punisher style cab keeps the downforce over the center of the vehicle and includes JConcepts style dual side windows. The center fin which has become synonymous with the P2 is included on the new body and heavily blended into the cab and rear bed area to increase rigidity and durability. The rear winglet feature is also added to the body and offsets the cab to allow air flow over the rear and inline with the rear tires.

The rear spoiler is included, pre-cut and the body has built in features for installation and accepts the stock hardware from the kit body. The best part of this body, the ability to install the front clipless body mount system easily to the front and rear end of the vehicle. Simply uninstall the small body mount assembly from the front and rear of the stock body and reinstall them in appropriate positioning inside the new P2 body. The body arrives as pre-cut in clear polycarbonate material and includes P2 decal sheet and window mask material.
