Press Release From RC Maker:
www.rcmaker.com.au

Three years in the making.

The RC Maker SP2 Touring Car is the result of a relentless pursuit, to build something truly unique, innovative, and race-ready. Refined through two seasons of learning with the SP1, this is their most advanced platform yet.

Designed and manufactured to the highest standards we've ever set.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported us on this journey. We are beyond excited to share this next chapter with you!

Suspension

Engineered for precision at every point of contact.

  • XS shocks and springs for reduced unsprung weight
  • Coaxial shock and pushrod geometry for smoother action, less play and reduced moment of inertia
  • Optimised suspension kinematics for improved traction and cornering response
  • Shock body fixed to bulkhead for reduced friction and unsprung weight
  • Rigid upstop adjustment via grub screw or screw and shims
  • 3mm longer suspension arms with 6mm closer mounting for improved corner speed
  • Minimised components on arm for lower unsprung weight
  • Delrin plastics and polished steel ball studs for minimum friction and wear
  • Adjustable rocker height via slider for quick, precise fine-tuning
  • Steel pushrod components replacing ball cups for reduced wear, weight and friction
  • Pinned upper shock mount for smoother action and reduced play
  • Turnbuckle Upper Arms Optional

MOTOR MOUNT & TOP DECK Motor Mount & Top Deck

Optimised flex characteristics, more adjustability, more durability

  • Raised motor mount with new positions and equal-length top decks for centralised flex
  • Motor raised 0.5mm to increase chassis material under the motor pocket for optimal flex and durability
  • Screw-in style steel layshaft for improved tolerance and durability
  • Larger locating pins for durable, repeatable alignment
  • Integrated pinion tightening hole accessible from underneath
  • Adjustable front and rear belt tensioners included
  • Optional centre belt tensioner for Modified class
  • Ample pinion clearance and motor adjustability for low FDRs
  • Cuttable top deck tabs for fine-tuning flex characteristics

SWAY BARS Sway Bars

Lowest CG. Minimal components. Maximum adjustability.

  • Ultra lightweight and adjustable from above
  • Ball-raced for easy installation and removal
  • Lowest possible centre of gravity
  • Minimal component count
  • Compatible with 1.0–1.3mm sway bars
  • All front and rear sway bar components are interchangeable

HUBS Hubs

More durability, larger tuning range and improved tolerance

  • Lowered axle height for a wider tuning window
  • Direct mounting for analogue and digital caster tools
  • Oversized 6×11×4mm inner bearing for improved durability and reduced play
  • Matched polished balls across hubs and inner arms for maximum compatibility
  • Optimised scrub radius for more aggressive steering response
  • Hard-coated wheel hexes for minimal play and wear
  • Integrated aero disc mounting option

STEERING & ARS Steering & ARS

More precision, optimised geometry and less play

  • Lengthened rear toe link for more linear rear toe gain
  • 8.0mm steering rack with optional steering lock stoppers
  • Consistent ball studs throughout for simplified compatibility
  • Low-CG one-piece servo mount with enlarged locating pins for precise, durable alignment

BULKHEADS Bulkheads

Stronger, more precise, more compatibility

  • 4mm raised top deck mounting for more rigid and progressive chassis flex
  • Raised diff and spool position for improved corner speed and driveability
  • Compatible FL/RR and FR/RL bulkheads to minimise required spare parts
  • Laser-etched belt tension positions
  • Increased arm clearance enabling higher roll centres
  • Precision locating pins for repeatable alignment

DRIVETRAIN Drivetrain

Stronger, more efficient, more durable

  • Threaded aluminium diff halves provide clearance for longer arms
  • Optimised diff gear spacing for improved durability under demanding conditions
  • Larger bearings on driveshafts without couplers, reducing friction and wear throughout
  • Lightweight, hardened outdrives and driveshaft components for minimal rolling resistance and wear
  • Larger centre pulley bearings for improved rigidity under high loads
  • Improved ball bearing durability and smoothness throughout

Chassis

Three materials. One standard. Zero compromise.

  • Minimised footprint reduces scrubbing during cornering and under acceleration/braking
  • Three chassis material options for maximum tunability across all surfaces
  • All three chassis share the same 110° steel screws for easy swaps and streamlined spares

Hardware

Designed to last. Built to perform.

  • High-quality nickel-plated YFS screws throughout the top of the car for maximum durability and corrosion resistance
  • High-quality steel 110° countersunk chassis screws with durable 2mm hex
