Today is the first official day of qualifying for the 10th scale IC Track Worlds here at Homestead Raceway in Homestead Florida. Infinity's Dario Balestri would take the opening round TQ by simply being the quickest man on the track in all calculations. Finishing with a 23/7:03.448 4 tenths of a second up on Infinity's Naoto Matsukura, Balestri also had the quickest 3 lap time and fastest overall lap of the round. Matsukura had pace to potentially take the TQ, but a 19.5 second lap following his pit lap would spoil his chances at the round 1 TQ. Shephard's Simon Kurzbuch would opt not to take a pit stop which would pay off giving him 3rd overall despite slightly slower lap times. An impressive 99% consistency was something that could only be achieved without a pitstop. Mugen's Shoki Takahata would take 4th overall with Serpent's Dominic Greiner coming in 5th overall. Top seed Infinity's Lamberto Collari would suffer from a slightly slower pit lap putting him 12th overall.

While it seems extremely rare that someone can complete the full qualifier without a fuel stop, Kurzbuch being the only driver in the top 10 to do it successfully, runtime will notibly play a factor in the semis and final later on this week.
