Radiopost: The Future of R/C Technology

For several months now we have heard rumors of a new company. This new company is supposedly the "future of r/c" with a new line of radio gear. Rumors of a new radio on the market that featured a full color screen, smart-phone like operation and menu icons, ergonomically designed, and high speed spectrum technology. Something so sweet, seems like it could only be a rumor.

Standing in line waiting for practice at this year's 25th Annual Cactus Classic, we looked over to see Team Losi's Cody Turner adjusting his radio. His radio had flip out color screen, smart-phone like menu and icons, stylish design, and had the appearance of one mean radio machine. The rumors of such a radio we're true! At this point we were forced to apologize as we went cutting through the line to catch up to Cody. He was nice enough to give us an up close and personal tour of the futuristic radio. What we discovered was an all-new company looking to take the technology in everyday life and bring it into the world of r/c. This unique and futuristic engineering company is known as Radiopost.

After spending some time with Cody and his Radiopost transmitter tour, we made our way into the SRS hobby shop. There on the display case sat a brand new Radiopost radio, radio box, and receiver. The color screen, the stylish glossy black radio case, and high speed receiver was something we couldn't resist. Before anyone else had the chance, we scooped it all up and headed for the check out!
After purchasing our new radio and spending countless hours between qualifying rounds playing on the radio just for fun, we decided it was time to take it to the track. Aside from the amazing feel and fit, high-tech screen, and all of its bling bling, Radiopost has created a transmitter that impressed us on and off the track! We decided we HAD to find out more!

In order to learn more about Radiopost, we got in contact with Eric Kim. Eric is in charge Radiopost's sales and marketing as well as playing a role in the product development. He was nice enough to sit down and spend some time to answer some questions for us!

LiveRC: Thank you so much for taking some time out with us Eric! So, let's cut to the chase, WHO is Radiopost?

Eric: Radiopost is all about RC technology. We want to develop the highest quality gear with simple and straight to the point functions. We mainly focus on electronic technology for the RC market.

LiveRC: Who and how was Radiopost developed and started?

Eric: Radiopost has been in the cell phone signal business for many years. The cell phone you are using right now is probably using our signal amplifier technology that allows you to get the best reception. We are using our knowledge of signal processing to make cool radios for serious racers and hobbyist.

LiveRC: Radiopost has incorporated some awesome features into the new radio. What inspired these new ideas?

Eric: Well we have some former Samsung and LG engineers so a lot of cell phone related features will be found in this radio. Especially the outside glossy design was inspired by a piano black smart-phone cover and the Swivel LCD screen was inspired by a cell phone as well. We want to associate our products with everyday items we use daily. Simple + ergonomic = performance.

LiveRC: At this time, what all products does Radiopost have to offer?

Eric: We offer our new TS401 radio as well as our receivers. We are also coming out with high output servos that have amazing specs and good quality. Those will be available Mid-April.

LiveRC: Are there future products already in the works at this time for Radiopost?

Eric: There are several products in the works like chargers, motors and pit accessories but nothing like you’ve seen before.

LiveRC: Cody Turner was very nice to spend some time showing us the radio, which later inspired us to buy one of own! Who is currently part of the Radiopost team, and are these team drivers part of the development process as well?

Eric: Yes, all our team drivers have been with us from the beginning of our creation. They have worked tirelessly to test our equipment for more than a year. Cody has been a big part of the development team as well as some other fast locals. We don't have a big team yet but we are starting to move and hopefully participate in all the future faces featured on LiveRC.com

LiveRC: Several of the current manufacturer's offer different level radios for different skill levels. Does Radiopost plan to offer different level radios for entry level to pro level racers?

Eric: Yes, we are developing different radios for different market segments. We will have our telemetry system out very soon as well as our Air/Heli radio

LiveRC: Where is the best place for customers to go to check out the Radiopost product line and purchase one of their own?

Eric: We are taking direct orders from our website for now but we are working with all the hobby shops across the country and major online retailers as well.

LiveRC: Thank you so much Eric for taking some time out with us, is there anything else you would like to add in?

Eric: I want to thank LiveRC for keeping us posted with all the race results all over the world. I also want to thank our customers and team drivers. Being a serious racer I know how important customer support is, we will do all the servicing and warranty work here in Lake Forest CA insuring our customers' fast reliable service. Thank You from Radipost!
