Since leaving Team Durango back in September of last year, former 2WD Modified national champion and 1/8-Scale Off-Road Worlds finalist Travis Amezcua has been a free agent. He entered the IFMAR Worlds in Las Vegas in October with an HB Racing buggy borrowed from now-HB Racing West Coast team manager Victor Guerrero, but has otherwise been relatively quiet about the future of his RC racing career.

On Friday evening, "Peanut" posted a few photos of bodies he signed for Larry Genova of Kustom RC Graphics to give away:

The following day, Amezcua posted a close-up image of what appears to be a new painted body on his Facebook page - and eagle-eyed commentors quickly pointed out that it was the JConcepts S2 body to fit the TLR 22-series 2WD buggy. The stickers indicate that he'll remain with AKA Products and Maclan Racing.

Amezcua has raced for Team Losi Racing in stints throughout his RC career, perhaps most notably in the mid-2000s when, as an employee of Horizon Hobby, he became the first driver in the modern era to set the fastest time in all four rounds of qualifying at a ROAR National when he did so in 2006 at The Farm II in North Carolina behind the wheel of a then-prototype 8IGHT buggy.

Of course, there's no guarantee that he'd be under contract to run officially for TLR and simply choosing the chassis on his own. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
