Stop 4 of the 6 race Hooter Chassis Outlaw Tour was at The Raceway in Beaver, a track that has been a RC mecca for over 22 years. The real story of the event was Frank Mertz taking 4 wins out of the 8 classes. Frank took home the goods in Power Push 21.5 Truck,  Mertz Racing 21.5 Car, Carpy’s RTT and SMC Racing Breakout.  None of his wins were a cake walk but the Power Push 21.5 Truck race was one of the hardest fought this season. In that race 4 of the 6 trucks in the A main finishing within 1.34 second of each other. That all happened after the TQ Nick Esposito found the inside barrier after leading the first 30 laps of the 125 contest. The Mertz Racing 17.5 race was the exact opposite type of race with more crashing than the Daytona 500, however Frank found a way to win there too. In ACS Pro Hobbies  Mudboss, Garrett Allen is looking to make it a perfect season with his 4th win of the year.  In the what is old is new again class of SMC Racing Breakout had 15 entries, TQ George Fetsko found the pressure of TQ to be too much within the first 30 second of the race and broke out with a lap faster than 4 seconds, leaving the lead to Glenn Schmauch who quickly followed suit and dropped a few laps leaving the lead to Mertz who in a robotic fashion turns laps just a few hundredths over the 4.00 second break out time. Carpy’s Rubber Tire Truck had a field of 13 trucks with none other than Mertz swapping leads with Rich Decker for the lead in which Mertz prevailed after 4 minutes.  The RJ Speed Legends class saw Rich Rine prevails for his first win of the season the SK Lite class was won by Keith Price and in the Phantom Signs and Graphics  Crate Lates Tom Parker got his first win. Premiere  series sponsors Donathan RC Products, Lefthander RC, Boca Bearing, SXT Traction Compound and Ovalwerks support the event with great products for door prizes. The next race on the Tour is in Erie Pa at the Gem City Gun Club on March 14. Find more on the Tour at their Facebook site Hooter Outlaw Chassis Tour.
