Gotzl Doubles at 2021 Czech Off-Road Nationals R3

Race report by Max Gotzl

The 3rd round of 1/8 Czech Nationals took a place last weekend in Kolin, Czech Republic. It rained a lot during the week before the race, but the organizers did their best so we could have the race. The weather forecast showed rain also for all Saturday, but luckily there was not a single drop during the whole day and we had a nice sunny race.

About the race itself, I managed to TQ all four qualifying runs with both, Nitro and E-buggy! Behind me it was a close fight between Jiri Benes and Martin Milowsky, who lined up 2nd and 3rd in E-buggy A-main respectively. With Nitro Vladimir Pour qualified 2nd and Jan Hujer 3rd.

After two solid wins in A1 and A2 of E-buggy, I managed to secure the overall straight away! Martin Milowsky took two 2nd places, which rewarded him the 2nd spot overall and Jan Domansky completed the podium on 3rd. The track was already getting pretty rough, so I made some setup adjustments to my XB8 before the main final, which worked out well and I managed to pull away and take the overall win with Nitro as well, making it a double! Jan Hujer had a good run to finish 2nd and Ales Marica completed the podium on 3rd.

Both my cars handled these dusty and bumpy conditions perfectly, powered by FX/Hobbywing, equipped with Savox servos, Hotrace tires and Sunpadow batteries. Big thanks to my sponsors and dad for the continuous support. Onto the next one!
