MSM Spec Slash Racing Series Results

RC Youtuber and Tekno/Proline/ProtekRC team driver Mark Santa Maria concluded his unique series race this past weekend at the Traxxas Headquarters in McKinney TX. The MSM Spec Slash Racing Series had a mission to grow the RC racing community with a low cost, highly competitive, and incredibly challenging series of races. The series consisted of 4 different tracks with 4 completely different surfaces and only 1 class (Spec Slash) divided in 3 different skill levels.

The finale was intended to level the playing field with grassroots racing in a parking lot with metal jumps and other unfamiliar obstacles. It resulted in 3 of the top 5 drivers posting a DNF in an extremely crucial finals race. 

“It was great to see some of the nation's top drivers supporting a class designed for new racers. My favorite part of the series was watching all the new racers being entered into the timing systems for the first time. About 50% of the racers were new to RC racing!” -Mark

With the support of Traxxas the MSMSSRS had 116 different racers, 20 of the fastest racers in the south central United States, and over $7000 in prizes given away!

“Although each race averaged about 80 entries per race, it was equivalent to a large regional race of around 200 entries since there is only 1 class. Everyone was able to experience great racing without dedicating an entire weekend. This makes it very intriguing for families to try rc racing and it worked!” -Mark
