The Avid RC B7 MachLite Idler Gear is built for stock and spec racers because every single gram counts when it comes to the drivetrain. We lightened the design and narrowed the gear face from 10mm to just 6mm. The result is a 3.34g gear that is 24% lighter than the kit gear with less rotating mass and inertia for quicker drivetrain response. We also machined it perfectly true to give you smooth and consistent rotation. Plus, the larger 54T design means there is still plenty of strength for Modified racing. You get less material and less rotating mass without ever having to treat it like it is made of glass.
