JConcepts set out to add another body shape to the line-up with a Slim Tuck version of the classic 1970’s Ford body. The iconic body style shaped and revised by Ford, specifically for the 1979 model year, features rectangular headlights and a one-piece center grille. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful truck than the original 1979 and JConcepts has built a ground-up design which embodies everything that is special about this piece of truck history. To start this project, JConcepts meticulously set their sights on the 1:1 vehicle replicating the finest details of 1979.

After consulting the JConcepts Adventure Team, the experts in the field recommended the SuperCab for additional scale points, and an overall narrowing of the design. The heavily chiseled, square body look with enlarged, flat-top wheel wells sets this body off as a favorite. The recessed body line extends down the entire side of the standard cab body and the included decal sheet details this section to appear like the chrome trim of yesteryear. The wrap-around front windshield, recessed side windows are outlined to perfection while the body lines are all in place to show off that vintage look.

The most notable change is the narrowing of the upper portion of the cab and the addition of a slight radius to the roof to aid in roll-over recovery. The 1979 Ford Slim Tuck body has a lot of features rolled into 1 powerful package to serve the entry level, intermediate, or professional looking for the ultimate versatility. Decal sheet is included to add grille, headlight, rear taillight, and tailgate appearance details while a selection of JConcepts and Ford logos allow the user to badge the vehicle to their liking. The factory pre-cut body is trimmed with precision and included window masks help speed up the preparation process.

For crawling enthusiasts, the team from Groveland, Florida adapted the Tucked style to the front and rear sections of the vehicle. The vision for the project is for those wanting to replicate an original but also be ready for competition equipped vehicles. The recessed bed area allows plenty of space for a variety of mounting applications as well as storage or placement of other scale accessories (not included). Large wheel well openings allow an assortment of tires ranging from 4.19” to 4.75” overall diameter tires.

The clear and pre-cut body shell includes decal sheet, window mask for easy painting, and covered with overspray film direct from the factory. The JConcepts team builds, tests, and travels the world to support the brand and gathers valuable driver feedback in search of the best appearing and performance items on the market. The product is designed in the U.S.A. and always backed by JConcepts customer service, supported, and developed by professionals with style. Look for reputable dealers and distributors and demand authentic products – choose JConcepts.
