Angular traction bars on the edges start the sidewall started and transition to an open shield feature to keep surface area edges present in the design.

The narrow tire carcass, with continuous contour, has major flex characteristics providing even greater conformity to rocks, holes, bumps, and just about anything in its path. Elaborate radial ribs and an array of additional bars on the sidewall of the tire aid in anti-slip, and outside carcass thickening.
