Redcat has announced the release of the Ascent-18 APEX, a high-performance 1/18 scale brushless rock crawler designed for serious enthusiasts who demand next-level capability in a compact platform. Building on the success of the Ascent-18, the APEX delivers more power and precision with over 80% of the platform reimagined.

At the heart of the APEX is a carbon fiber low center of gravity (LCG) chassis, providing unmatched strength and stability on technical terrain. The crawler debuts all-new WIDE HS (High Steer) portal axles, which dramatically improve steering radius while boosting ground clearance for maximum crawling performance.

Performance upgrades come standard on the APEX, including overdrive gears, an upgraded ring and pinion gear ratio, and brass components like the front outer portal boxes and front differential cover for enhanced traction and balance. Ball bearings throughout ensure smooth and efficient drivetrain operation, while the 4kg metal gear micro servo delivers precise control when navigating tough obstacles.

The Ascent-18 APEX comes equipped with a HobbyWing brushless power system, a 3S 200mAh LiPo battery, and a convenient USB charger, giving drivers everything they need to hit the trails. Its 2-piece body arrives in a cab-only configuration, with an optional bed that can be easily installed for a more scale appearance.  Available in Metallic Red and Dark Metallic Gray, the Ascent-18 APEX is both rugged and refined.

The APEX also comes fitted with aggressive high-grip crawler tires on beadlock wheels, giving drivers the confidence to conquer steep, uneven, and technical terrain.

Like its predecessor, the Ascent-18 APEX is compatible with most Ascent-18 hop-up parts,  allowing enthusiasts to expand performance even further.
