Redcat Racing, a leader in innovative radio-controlled vehicles, announces the release of the Vertex-6, a 1/6 scale ready-to-run brushless 4WD rock crawler engineered to deliver high torque, rugged durability, and extreme performance for serious enthusiasts.
Built on a heavy-duty 4mm ladder frame chassis, the Vertex-6 is designed with performance at its core. A forward-mounted motor provides exceptional front-weight bias, improving climbing ability and stability on steep, technical terrain. The chassis also offers multiple battery mounting options for different sizes of batteries and adjustable suspension geometry, giving drivers the flexibility to fine-tune their setup for any environment.
Unmatched Drivetrain and Steering Performance
The Vertex-6 employs reinforced solid axles with steel internal axle tubes, ensuring durability under extreme loads. Its high-mount hypoid-cut ring and pinion gears deliver the high torque required for large-scale crawling while maintaining smooth operation and exceptional ground clearance. For precision steering, the crawler features double CV joints that allow ultra-smooth articulation at extreme angles, plus adjustable Ackerman blocks so drivers can tailor steering response to their liking.
Selectable Underdrive at Your Fingertips
A standout innovation is the ability to switch between 0% or 33% underdrive directly from the transmitter. This provides unparalleled adaptability on the trail—drivers can run equal drive for balanced handling or engage underdrive for tighter turning and increased control in technical crawling scenarios. A dedicated servo ensures smooth, reliable gear shifting.
Premium Electronics Package
At the heart of the Vertex-6 is a Hobbywing Fusion RTR 2-in-1 brushless motor/ESC combo (1800KV, 2–4S LiPo ready), delivering powerful and efficient performance. Steering duties are handled by the HX-LS large-scale digital servo, boasting 972oz/in (70kg/cm) of torque with robust metal gears for strength and precision. Control comes through the RTX-4C four-channel 2.4GHz radio system, offering channel reversals, endpoint adjustments, and the flexibility needed for advanced tuning.
Suspension and Shocks Built for Big Terrain
Large-scale oil-filled shocks with air emulsion dampening and X-ring sealssoak up rough terrain, while high-clearance rear links and adjustable suspension geometry give the Vertex-6 impressive articulation and trail-tuning options. Combined with 7-inch soft-compound crawler tires on 2.9-inch beadlock wheels, the Vertex-6 delivers consistent traction and stability across rocks, dirt, and loose surfaces.
Innovative Body Mounting System
The forward-tilt body mounting system makes battery changes fast and frustration-free. A single rear locking fastener and clip-in front hinge eliminate the need for body clips, providing quick access while maintaining a clean, scale appearance.
Upgrades and Customization
Redcat has designed the Vertex-6 with upgrade potential in mind. Steel wheel weights are available to further lower the center of gravity, while also increasing front weight bias for increased stability. In addition, a full lineup of genuine Redcat parts and accessories ensures that owners can maintain, customize, and optimize their crawler for years of trail adventures.
A New Benchmark in Large-Scale Crawling
With the Vertex-6, Redcat has delivered, not just size, but precision, durability, and innovations like transmitter-controlled underdrive and a low center of gravity chassis with forward-mounted motor. It’s a crawler designed to perform at the highest level while giving enthusiasts all the tools to make it their own.
