Race Report by Dublin Model Car Club:

The DMCC ran their Summer Championships for 1:10 electric buggies at their indoor venue, just north of Dublin airport. The classes raced were 2wd modified and clubman (10.5t) and 4wd modified and clubman (10.5). The championship consisted of 10 rounds, with the best 7 results to count for over-all places.

2wd Clubman
This is the most popular class. Alan Thompson winner of the Clubman class in the winter championship, had moved over to the modified class. This would leave the way clear for a  few new faces to emerge.

Dylan McBurney carried on his form from the winter championship, winning the first six  rounds, with Kevin White again taking up the second place spot. Dylan was able to win a  seventh round to give a perfect score for the championship. Kevin backed up his second place in the winter championships with a second in the summer, just 4 points off Dylan. Adam Keegan building on his consistency finished third. Further down the order things were very close between a number of drivers. Tony Marshal, who was is only in his third season of racing finished fourth, just 4 points behind Adam. Lucy Thompson, (sister of Alan) was able to put in some good results in the last three rounds of the championship to keep her fifth place over all, four points clear of some of the clubs more experienced members. Graham Parkes (6th), Dave Bolger (7th), just a point behind Ken Gordon (8th), Ray Marshal (9th) and Jack Cunningham (10th).
