Sousa Wins 2021 Provincial Championships

This weekend I went to Centre Du Hobby for Provincial Championship.

It’s a track I’ve been once before so I felt really happy about going back there

On Friday they decided to run practice heats so track time was very limited and with a 15 degree difference since the last time I was there meant the knowledge of what the track was gonna do was a little slim. At first went out on a pretty high set of treads but slowly realized the track is too clean for that. So every run was a learning curve and was mainly testing and changing tires all practice with the help of Rob Wheeler putting on the tires for me on track and Richard for testing tires for me during his practice runs. As the day winded down I started working on Slicks. After some work with them I managed to get them in a really good window to the point they were quite a bit quicker

On Saturday I decided to start off the first 2 round on very low set of treads just to be safe because we didn’t have practice in the morning to gauge what the condition was like. First 2 rounds went good I was to TQ both rounds so that gave me a little bit of breathing room to try slicks again. Richard and Rob both ran my tires in there runs and thought they were awesome and judging off their lap times and consistency I would say it was a good choice to put them back on. So went back to S4 Shadows for both cars and they were really good. Couple more good runs and I was able to TQ the final 2 rounds as well. 

Thanks to Nelson and Rob for helping me out after I come off the stand. As the day went on I started feeling better and I was able to win the 2nd main in 4 wheel and win the final 2 mains in 2 wheel. Overall solid weekend and loved racing at this track. Thank you Damien Lamy and his family for allowing me to stay at their house.
