JConcepts "G-Locs" short course tire
$19.50 per pair
When it comes to short course truck racing, most often you think of 2wd and 4wd offroad racing. JConcepts "re-invented" the meaning of short course racing  by releasing their "Scalpel" onroad racing conversion kit for the Traxxas Slash 4x4 truck. To accompany the onroad racing conversion kit, they also released a new onroad short course tire known as the "G-Locs". While we are not running a Slash 4x4, or a "Scalpel" conversion, we are known to rip up the asphalt with our Traxxas Slash 2wd "basher" truck from time to time. With that being said, we decided to lace up a fresh pair of kicks for our Slash 2wd using the new JConcepts "G-Locs" rubber.

Pros:
  • Low-profile design reduces traction rolling normally encountered using offroad SCT tires on asphalt.
  • The thick reinforced carcass eliminates tire "ballooning" even at blistering fast 3S LiPo speeds.
  • Tread design offers a very "neutral" feel.
  • Yellow compound (medium) keeps the tire wear to a minimum.
Cons:
  • While the tire is far more durable than most we have ran, it's harder compound has a tendency to cut back on the amount of forward traction.
  • Only available in one compound.
Conclusion:
There are two different ways to look at the "G-Locs" short course truck tire. If you are competitively onroad racing your short course truck, this tire offers a very smooth, forgiving, and easy to drive truck that still goes fast. If you are a parking lot basher (like us), this tire is by far one of the most durable tires we've ran, BUT lacks slightly in the wheelie popping department compared to other softer compound tires.

Cons:

Conclusion:
The ProTek R/C Prodigy 612 DUO AC charger is definitely among one of our favorite dual port AC chargers we have used. The capability of charging up to 12 amps per side simultaneously, built-in power supply, and Pre-Charge Function are the major highlights of this charger for our personal needs. The 612 DUO AC is slightly larger and heavier than some others on the market, but it's okay because it has a great personality. The price seems a little high until you realize all of this chargers features, capabilities, and overall performance. While working with the charger we THOUGHT we had a problem (turns out we just don't know what were doing), but the very helpful and kind customer service department gladly helped us get back on track, and didn't make us feel dumber than we already felt. If you are looking for a convenient, high quality, and high performance dual charger...look no further.
