22/23 XRS Slovakia Round 5 Report

A close fight all day with Martin and Oliver, but I could take TQ in both stock and modified just a bit in front of them, and I was able to hold on and win the first 2 finals with both classes to take the overall victory, as well to seal the championship with one round to go.

After a few tweaks on the setup both my Xray X4’23s with HW, Nosram and SRT electronics worked really nice.

I started in three categories, which I really enjoyed!!

FWD: I managed to find a good setup on Friday in free practice, starting from TQ I managed to win all three finals.

The 5th round of XRS Slovakia took a place last weekend in the Hudy Arena.

The event saw big entries this time, with around 100 cars for the off-road portion of the race.

It was Micha Widmaier as the fastest in both 2WD and 4WD qualifying time and set the overall TQs. XRAY’s Martin Bayer lined up 2nd in both classes behind him, with Hupo Hönigl securing the two 3rd places.

Micha won the A1 of 2WD, but struggled an electronics issue in A2, which allowed Martin to take the win and make the fight interesting in A3. Micha put down another solid run and took the overall win in the end, in front of Martin in 2nd and Hupo 3rd.

4WD finals were far more interesting, as Hupo won A1, Micha won A2 and Martin won A3. All of them had 2nd place as the second best result, so it came down to a tie break on the overall time. Micha came out on top, with Martin taking the overall 2nd place and Hupo again 3rd.
