Gotzl and Bidovsky Win Czech Nationals R3

Race Report by Max Gotzl 

The 3rd round of 1/10 Czech Nationals 2019 took a place on the astro track in Velke Opatovice.

I with my father came there for some practice on Friday, the traction was high, so I set the car up for that. The next morning, the qualies started with me taking TQ in 4wd and Truck, and Marek Schiller in 2wd. I was able to secure the overall TQ with 4wd and Truck as I took the TQ in Q2, and also I took Q2 with 2wd. In Q3 it was me again on top in 4wd, but this time in 2wd Ales Bidovsky was the fastest, still it was enough for me to take the overall TQ spot! Marek and Ales finished 2nd and 3rd in 2wd, in 4wd it was Ales 2nd and Marek 3rd and in Truck Jan Hoffman was starting 2nd and Jaroslav Kopecky 3rd.

The 4wd part, it was very similar to the 2wd, but me and Ales swapped the roles. I made some stupid mistakes in the A1 and Ales took it. But I was able to put good runs in A2 and A3 to take the overall win! Ales finished 2nd and Marek again 3rd.

With Truck I took an easy win in A1 and A2 to secure the overall win! Jan and Jaroslav had a battle for the overall 2nd in the A3 and Jan took it, so the podium stayed the same as after qualies.

The A1 of 2wd went great to my side, as I was able to make a flawles run and take the win, Ales took 2nd and Marek 3rd. The A2 was a bit worse for me, also with some mistakes, I had to settle for 2nd behind Ales. I was fighting with Ales for the lead in the A3 almost all run, we came to a very close side by side fight in the last lap, but unfortunately it worked out better for him and took the win just one second in front of me. I took the overall 2nd and Marek finished 3rd.

All my three cars were doing good on the quite hard and bumpy track, just was missing some practice, which the other guys had here. Had to adjust quite a lot of things to get the cars driveable for this track, especially because of the track grip went down a lot compare to Friday, but the car was still rolling a lot.
